Rachel took our First Christmas pictures! We’re newlyweds with two fur babies and were feeling reluctant to look for a photographer after the experience we had with our wedding photographer. If only we cold have found her for our wedding. She was amazing – our dogs were a nightmare to work with! They were so excited and didn’t want to cooperate, but she was lighthearted and funny the entire shoot. We were EXTREMELY unprepared but she came with her own props! These really helped us! The pictures were gorgeous, and the COLORS! This girl is amazing! We hope to work with her again, if she’ll have us!!!

Rachel Grahmann has done many photography jobs for me, however the most recent one she has done were my senior portraits for my college graduation, which is a pretty important job. I was very nervous and wanted these pictures to come out great. Before the shoot Rachel reassured me how fun and easy it would be, which relaxed me. During the actual shoot she was very comforting and made me feel very confident. She instructed me when I had no idea how or where to pose. She gave good feedback and was very patient with me. As my design editor at The Rattler newspaper during the fall of 2014, Rachel brought a perfect storm of efficiency, detail, and style to the newspaper. We’d never had better design, in my humble opinion – but her superior design skills aside, Rachel went beyond the pale of her job description. She thoroughly checked, rechecked, and checked again the paper for preflighting. In the process, she caught dozens of errors that might have been embarrassing had they been sent to the printer for publication. On top of her design and copy editing prowess, Rachel set a standard of professionalism in the newsroom – showing up to all meetings on-time and prepared, meeting all deadlines, pitching ideas and engaging wholeheartedly with the development and progress of the newspaper. Her leadership produced one of our most successful video projects, a “Shake It Off” that boosted our social media engagement by some thousand percentage points, 13,000, at one point, I think. She redesigned the style guide of the paper, updated the library, designed t-shirts, and won awards – such as a design award at TIPA for a personal favorite center spread of mine about two elderly Marianist brothers who take morning exercise very seriously. Her commitment, intelligence, loyalty, skill and leadership make her a powerful force, and, with that in mind, I send my highest recommendations.
